Seeking Professional and Skilled Stenographer/Transcriptionist to Lead a Team of Stenographers The White House Stenography Office seeks candidates to manage and supervise a team of stenographers/transcriptionists responsible for the recording and transcription of verbatim public remarks of senior officials in the federal government. Position based in Washington, D.C. Qualified candidates must meet the following criteria: ·       Ability to transcribe a minimum of 75-85 words per minute with 90-95% accuracy. ·       Excellent grasp of advanced grammar and punctuation usage. ·       Demonstrated professional experience in writing and editing. ·       Ability to efficiently and quickly research to ensure content is accurate. ·       Ability to quickly proofread transcribed text while listening to ensure it matches the content of the audio. ·       Exceptional attention to detail, effective communications skills within a team, and a high degree of professionalism. ·       Ability and willingness to work flexible hours when necessary. ·       Demonstrated interest in, and knowledge of, current U.S. domestic and international issues. ·       Knowledge of transcription or scoping software and proficient in Microsoft Word.
